What is the connection? The missing link: hardening of the arteries. Without adequate Vitamin K our blood cannot clot well. Follow the steps in the scenario.

1. Americans do not eat enough green leafy vegetables. These contain Vitamin K. Our blood cannot clot so well. Because our blood vessels are leaky from bad nutrition to begin with, the body chooses an alternative method for stopping up the leaks. That is to lay down calcium in plaques on the inside of the blood vessels.
2. Thickened linings of the blood vessels due to plaque means less blood flow to the tissues, including the heart.
3. Lower blood flow to the heart means low oxygen to the heart which is a major cause of heart attack.
How do we reverse this? Three steps.
1. Eat better. More green leafy veggies for better clotting. More fruit to restore the inside of the blood vessels (no leaks).
2. Many use Apple Cider Vinegar (unpasteurized, unfiltered) to dissolve calcium out of blood vessels.
3. Many take Cayenne to ensure circulation and prevent heart attacks.
It is not necessary to die of cardiovascular disease – the number one killer of Americans. I may have just saved your life!

MASSAGED KALE SALAD

Ingredients

  • 1/4 avocado
  • 1 T rice vinegar
  • 2 t shoyu soy sauce
  • garlic powder, sea salt, pepper
  • 1 pinch Cayenne
  • 1 t agave
  • Grape tomato
  • Carrots, shredded (1/4 cup?)

Mash Ingredients in a big bowl, top with Kale, grape tomato, carrots, Massage together, let sit 10 minutes.

This might also be good using Apple Cider Vinegar (unfiltered, unpasteurized). Thanks to cousin Emily from Lexington for this. Keep up the good work!

This is an external application that I have found good for bronchitis.

Mullein (Verbascum thapsis) 3 parts dried, cut

Lobelia (Lobelia inflata) 1 part dried, cut

Weigh 1 ounce of the mixed herbs.

Bring 1&1/2 pints water to a boil, add the 1 oz of mixed herbs, remove from heat, and steep for 20 minutes

Strain. It may be necessary to wrap the herbs in a cheesecloth and press out to get plenty of the infusion.

When cool enough, this can be applied to the chest using muslin or a cotton diaper. It is good to cover this with plastic wrap and then place a corn bag over that to keep the warmth.

Note: this infusion is staining! Protect furniture and clothing.

Author of How to Raise A Healthy Child…In Spite Of Your Doctor Robert S. Mendolsohn, MD wrote ” Measures to reduce temperature, such as drugs or sponging, are worse than unnecessary; THEY ARE ACTUALLY COUNTERPRODUCTIVE. ” (my emphasis).

He went on to explain that the increase in body temperature causes our immune systems to work faster and KILL the virus or bacteria. Others have found that a One Degree increase in body temperature actually doubles the speed of immune response.

Our bodies actually have a built-in mechanism for reducing the fever will prevent a temperature brought on by virus or bacteria from reaching 106 degrees F. Read the book. Dr. Mendolsohn explains the situation in a way that will take the fear out of fever.

As a father and grandfather, I am deeply disturbed by a child who is sick. So, if we do not give aspirin or acetaminophen to reduce it or sponge the child to reduce the fever, then what can we do?  A feverish child is very uncomfortable and the parent/caretaker also is filled with anxiety in this situation.

A very useful thing to do is to make a cup of Chamomile tea. The tea can be given to the child by the dropperful in the sides of the mouth. It is mild enough even to be harmless to very young babies. (Be absolutely sure to cool the tea so that it does not BURN the child’s mouth!) Then, have the caretaker drink the rest of the cup. This will calm down everyone and cause the discomfort to lessen so that rest and healing can occur.

It was excruciating when my children suffered with ear pain! As a parent I was at my wits end to take care of their suffering. Usually that meant an antibiotic for a condition that might be an ear infection. That was before I graduated from the School of Natural Healing. As a pharmacist I believed that I was doing the right thing. But read what pediatrician Dr. Robert S. Mendelsohn, MD wrote about that situation in his book How to Raise A Healthy Child….In Spite of Your Doctor.

“This doctor is treating your child improperly on two counts. First, the fact that an eardrum is pink or even mildly red does not mean that your child has a middle ear infection. ……………….”

“The second mistake is treating the patient with antibiotics whether his eardrum is pink, beet red, or even Royal blue! The only case in which the use of antibiotics can remotely be justified is if the ear is actually discharging pus…..”

Dr. Mendelsohn does make a couple of reasonable suggestions at curbing the pain: warm olive oil or a heating pad.

I would add:

  • warm (not hot) garlic, especially if it is made with mullein in it, is effective when instilled into the ear. Be sure there is no perforation of the ear drum. Garlic actually kills infection if present and there are no known bacteria that are resistant to garlic
  • Warm salt-in-a-sock-trick worked for my kids. I heated table salt in a saucepan until it was pretty warm (not hot), poured it into a clean white sock (about a golf-ball-sized amount), tied the sock and placed it on the ear. It worked pretty fast.

Read the book for yourself and do what is right. Antibiotics are always harmful and sometimes DEADLY!

Try Yerbe mate! My introduction this beverage was a couple of decades ago and took the form of a book that I read. The book was written by the wife of a pilot who flew his wife and child around South America in a small airplane. The family landed in various cities. In one of these cities they noticed that the inhabitants were more civil, calmer, and friendlier. They also noticed that many of the natives carried around wooden cups and gourds from which they consumed Yerbe mate.

Recently my wife’s daughter alerted me that people were using Yerbe mate for ADD/ADHD because it has the stimulant effects of caffeine but has a calming effect as well.

Fine, I thought. I will just see if this can be better on my nerves than coffee. EUREKA! I have been substituting Yerba mate for coffee for several days. I can report at least as much of an uplift from the Yerbe mate but with none of the coffee jitters.

This is great stuff for cold December day!
